Here’s a concept I came up with recently:
One day whether through magic or science, character A, Ivan, gets split in half and he and his other self, dubbed Navi, character B, have to find a way to put themselves back together again. Something physical shows them that they’re not whole, but throughout the story and as both Ivan and Navi interact with the world around them, that physical manifestation of their emptiness slowly starts to fade, hinting that they’re becoming whole on their own.
When Navi and Ivan go to merge again, they realize they’re no longer two halves of a whole and can’t merge anymore. Maybe Navi’s emptiness healed faster, showing desire to be his own person and not be hated for what he feels are his best qualities.
It could be a story about loving yourself, recognizing the good in all of you, not just pushing parts of yourself down until they can no longer be seen.
I really like this Picrew creator, so if anyone does read this little concept, here’s the picrew I used: https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/1712061
I think this^ is a good way to show Ivan
